Mount Calvary United Methodist Church celebrates 130 years of faithful worship this March. It is known as the red brick church on the side of the road on Route 6. We are located one mile West on Route 6 in Charlotte Hall, Maryland (three-quarters of a mile from the Charlotte Hall Library). Mt. Calvary UMC is grounded in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Founded in the Christian principle that God's love is for all, you will discover that there resides a sweet spirit within the walls of Mount Calvary UMC.
Presently, the church has seen a renewal in the growth of its congregation with young and middle age adults joining regularly. Mount Calvary continues to grow in spirit, truth and light. Jesus asks all to "come and follow me." Come join us as we follows the teachings of Jesus Christ as well as the five practices of a fruitful congregation -- radical hospitality, passionate worship, intentional faith development, risk-taking mission and service and extravagant generosity. We welcome you to come fellowship with us and hear and learn from the dynamic, spirit-filled, mighty man of God, Rev. Richard Black and his God approved wife, First Lady Susan Black. Rev. Black and his family are new to Mt. Calvary UMC, but already our fire for Christ has been stirred to new levels and we are running for Jesus to bring all men, women and children to know that Jesus is Love.
